Este posibil ca cometele cu perioad\u0103 lung\u0103 s\u0103 evolueze \u00een comete cu perioad\u0103 scurt\u0103 ca urmare a interac\u021biunilor gravita\u021bionale cu planetele gigantice.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"ro-RO\">De asemenea, se distinge familia cometelor lui Jupiter care au perioade orbitale mai mici de 20 de ani. Dezvoltarea acestei atmosfere sub\u021biri se datoreaz\u0103 sublim\u0103rii ghe\u021bii con\u021binute \u00een nucleu. Aceast\u0103 sublimare este provocat\u0103 de \u00eenc\u0103lzirea nucleului atunci c\u00e2nd acesta se apropie de Soare. Aceste observa\u021bii au permis detectarea a peste 20 de molecule gazoase \u00een coam\u0103. Pe de alt\u0103 parte, natura unor minerale poate fi determinat\u0103 \u0219i prin observa\u021bii la distan\u021b\u0103. Astfel, granulele cometare sunt majoritar constituite din silicate.
