Planeta cu cel mai impresionant sistem de inele\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Saturn este cea mai \u00eendep\u0103rtat\u0103 planet\u0103 cunoscut\u0103 \u00een antichitate \u0219i a fost botezat\u0103 dup\u0103 zeul roman al timpului, tat\u0103l lui Jupiter, care \u00een mitologia greac\u0103 era titanul Cronos. Acesta fusese ini\u021bial \u0219i zeul agriculturii \u0219i al bog\u0103\u021biei, lucru deloc neobi\u0219nuit dat fiind faptul c\u0103 natura era cea care \u201edicta\u201d vremea, starea culturilor precum \u0219i \u201dtimpul\u201d oamenilor. Astronomii babilonieni au observat \u0219i au \u00eenregistrat sistematic mi\u0219c\u0103rile lui Saturn \u00eens\u0103 inelele nu i-au fost cunoscute dec\u00e2t mult mai t\u00e2rziu.\u00a0 Saturn este cunoscut sub numele de \u201eShani\u201d (\u201ecel care se mi\u0219c\u0103 \u00eencet\u201d) \u00een astrologia hindus\u0103, dup\u0103 un zeu care judec\u0103 oamenii pe baza faptelor bune \u0219i rele f\u0103cute \u00een via\u021b\u0103. Chinezii antici au desemnat planeta Saturn drept \u201eSteaua P\u0103m\u00e2ntului\u201d, ea fiind monitorizat\u0103 cu aten\u021bie pentru a se putea prezice starea recoltelor \u0219i a economiei imperiului.\u00a0 \u00cen ebraic\u0103, Saturn, considerat al \u0219aptelea obiect cosmic (dup\u0103 Soare, Mercur, Venus, Luna, Marte, Jupiter),\u00a0 este numit Shabbathai (de la Sabat, ziua a \u0219aptea sau ziua odihnei). Dup\u0103 cum am mai spus, de existen\u021ba inelelor saturniene nu se \u0219tia p\u00e2n\u0103 c\u00e2nd astronomul Christiaan Huygens nu le-a v\u0103zut \u00een 1655 \u0219i a publicat despre aceast\u0103 descoperire \u00een anul 1659. Celebrul Galileo Galilei, cu telescopul s\u0103u primitiv din \u00a01610, le-a descris drept urechi sau ca pe dou\u0103 luni. Aceasta este, de fapt, una dintre cele mai relevante caracteristici ale planetei, sistemul s\u0103u spectaculos de inele. Toate planetele gigantice (Jupiter, Uranus, Neptun) au inele, dar cele ale lui Saturn sunt de departe cele mai mari, luminoase \u0219i clar vizibile. Sistemul de inele saturnian reprezint\u0103 una dintre cele mai complexe \u0219i extinse structuri circumplanetare din Sistemul Solar, fiind alc\u0103tuit dintr-o multitudine de particule solide care variaz\u0103 ca dimensiune de la micrometri p\u00e2n\u0103 la blocuri de un metru sau chiar mai mari. Aceste particule sunt compuse predominant din ghea\u021b\u0103 de ap\u0103 cu impurit\u0103\u021bi de material st\u00e2ncos \u0219i compu\u0219i organici, ceea ce explic\u0103 albedoul ridicat al inelelor comparativ cu alte structuri similare. Inelele sunt organizate \u00een mai multe subdiviziuni majore (A, B, C, D, E, F \u0219i G), separate de goluri distincte precum Diviziunea Cassini cauzate \u00een mare parte de rezonan\u021be gravita\u021bionale cu sateli\u021bii naturali ai planetei, \u00een special cu sateli\u021bi precum Mimas. Din punct de vedere dinamic, sistemul este extrem de activ: interac\u021biunile gravita\u021bionale dintre particule, coliziunile frecvente \u0219i influen\u021ba sateli\u021bilor \u201ep\u0103stori\u201d conduc la formarea unor structuri fine, precum unde de densitate, unde de \u00eencovoiere \u0219i margini bine definite. \u00cen plus, procesele de forfecare diferen\u021bial\u0103 datorate rota\u021biei kepleriene determin\u0103 men\u021binerea unei distribu\u021bii stratificate a materialului, fiecare particul\u0103 orbit\u00e2nd cu viteze diferite \u00een func\u021bie de distan\u021ba fa\u021b\u0103 de planet\u0103. Observa\u021biile realizate de sonde spa\u021biale au eviden\u021biat \u0219i fenomene tranzitorii, precum \u201eraze\u201d \u00eentunecate (spokes) generate probabil de interac\u021biuni electrostatice \u00eentre particule \u0219i c\u00e2mpul magnetic al lui Saturn. \u00cenclina\u021bia inelelor fa\u021b\u0103 de planul orbitei lui Saturn \u00a0este de 27 de grade acesta fiind motivul pentru care aspectul lor se schimb\u0103 de-a lungul timpului. C\u00e2nd Terra se afl\u0103 \u00een planul inelelor, acestea au \u201dmuchia\u201d \u00eendreptat\u0103 spre noi \u0219i aproape c\u0103 dispar la observa\u021bii dat fiind c\u0103 ele sunt extrem de sub\u021biri. \u00cen schimb, c\u00e2nd ele se afl\u0103 la unghiul lor maxim fa\u021b\u0103 de orbita terestr\u0103 par mult mai extinse \u0219i m\u0103resc aspectul aparent al lui Saturn.<\/p>\n<p>Mult timp s-a crezut c\u0103 inelele lui Saturn exist\u0103 de la formarea planetei, adic\u0103 de peste 4 miliarde de ani. Dar cercet\u0103ri mai noi sugereaz\u0103 c\u0103 ele ar putea avea doar c\u00e2teva sute de milioane de ani, relativ \u201etinere\u201d la scar\u0103 cosmic\u0103. Cu o densitate medie mai mic\u0103 dec\u00e2t cea a apei, Saturn cea mai pu\u021bin dens\u0103 planet\u0103 \u0219i este singura despre care se spune adesea, \u00een mod sugestiv, c\u0103 \u201ear putea pluti\u201d dac\u0103 ar exista un ocean suficient de mare pentru a o sus\u021bine. Aceast\u0103 particularitate se datoreaz\u0103 compozi\u021biei sale predominant gazoase, alc\u0103tuit\u0103 \u00een principal din hidrogen \u0219i heliu, precum \u0219i structurii sale interne mai pu\u021bin compacte comparativ cu planetele telurice. Spre deosebire de nuan\u021bele intense ale lui Jupiter (cu furtunile sale vizibile), Saturn se prezint\u0103 \u00eentr-o gam\u0103 delicat\u0103 de galben pal, auriu \u0219i bej, datorat\u0103 compozi\u021biei atmosferei sale \u0219i interac\u021biunii luminii solare cu particulele de amoniac \u0219i alte gaze. Benzile atmosferice sunt mai pu\u021bin contrastante, dar pot fi observate sub forma unor dungi fine care \u00eenconjoar\u0103 planeta. Aceste culori sunt influen\u021bate \u0219i de varia\u021biile de temperatur\u0103 \u0219i de prezen\u021ba unor compu\u0219i chimici \u00een straturile superioare ale atmosferei, ceea ce face ca aspectul lui Saturn s\u0103 fie nu doar armonios, ci \u0219i dinamic, schimb\u00e2ndu-se subtil \u00een timp.<\/p>\n<p>Saturn prezint\u0103 o <strong><em>dinamic\u0103 rota\u021bional\u0103 \u0219i orbital\u0103<\/em><\/strong> complex\u0103, caracterizat\u0103 printr-o rota\u021bie rapid\u0103 \u0219i o perioad\u0103 orbital\u0103 \u00eendelungat\u0103. De\u0219i este o planet\u0103 uria\u0219\u0103, planeta are o perioad\u0103 de rota\u021bie de doar aproximativ 10 ore \u0219i 33 de minute (valoare estimat\u0103 \u0219i variabil\u0103 \u00een func\u021bie de latitudine \u0219i metodele de m\u0103surare), ceea ce o \u00eencadreaz\u0103 printre cele mai \u201drapide\u201d planete din Sistemul Solar. Aceast\u0103 rota\u021bie accelerat\u0103 genereaz\u0103 o for\u021b\u0103 centrifug\u0103 semnificativ\u0103 responsabil\u0103 pentru forma sa aplatizat\u0103, cu o diferen\u021b\u0103 vizibil\u0103 \u00eentre raza ecuatorial\u0103 \u0219i cea polar\u0103. \u00cen acela\u0219i timp, prin contrast, Saturn orbiteaz\u0103 Soarele la o distan\u021b\u0103 medie de aproximativ 9,5 unit\u0103\u021bi astronomice, parcurg\u00e2nd o orbit\u0103 complet\u0103 \u00een circa 29,5 ani tere\u0219tri. Aceast\u0103 perioad\u0103 orbital\u0103 extins\u0103 determin\u0103 un ciclu sezonier de lung\u0103 durat\u0103, fiecare anotimp persist\u00e2nd aproximativ 7 ani p\u0103m\u00e2nteni. Interac\u021biunea dintre rota\u021bia rapid\u0103, structura sa gazoas\u0103 \u0219i influen\u021bele gravita\u021bionale externe contribuie la apari\u021bia unor fenomene atmosferice complexe, inclusiv jeturi zonale puternice \u0219i varia\u021bii sezoniere \u00een distribu\u021bia norilor \u0219i a compozi\u021biei chimice atmosferice.<\/p>\n<p>Planeta are cei mai mul\u021bi <strong><em>sateli\u021bi<\/em><\/strong> din tot sistemul nostru solar dar \u0219i unii extrem de speciali. Mul\u021bi dintre ace\u0219tia sunt foarte mici, cu orbite haotice, cel mai probabil fragmente r\u0103mase din coliziuni str\u0103vechi. Practic, sistemul saturnian seam\u0103n\u0103 cu un mini-sistem solar. <strong><em>Titan<\/em><\/strong> este cea mai mare lun\u0103 a lui Saturn \u0219i se remarc\u0103 printr-o serie de caracteristici unice \u00een Sistemul Solar: este singurul satelit cunoscut av\u00e2nd o atmosfer\u0103 dens\u0103, compus\u0103 \u00een principal din azot, asem\u0103n\u0103toare \u00eentr-o anumit\u0103 m\u0103sur\u0103 cu cea a P\u0103m\u00e2ntului. La suprafa\u021ba sa exist\u0103 lacuri \u0219i m\u0103ri de metan \u0219i etan lichid, \u00een loc de ap\u0103, ceea ce sugereaz\u0103 un ciclu meteorologic activ bazat pe hidrocarburi; temperatura extrem de sc\u0103zut\u0103 (aproximativ -179\u00b0C) face ca apa s\u0103 fie solid\u0103 ca roca; iar sub scoar\u021ba \u00eenghe\u021bat\u0103 se crede c\u0103 ar exista un ocean subteran de ap\u0103 amestecat\u0103 cu amoniac, ceea ce \u00eel transform\u0103 \u00eentr-un candidat interesant pentru studiul condi\u021biilor prebiotice \u0219i al posibilit\u0103\u021bii existen\u021bei unor forme de via\u021b\u0103 exotice.<\/p>\n<p>Un alt satelit remarcabil al lui Saturn este <strong><em>Enceladus<\/em><\/strong>, cunoscut pentru activitatea sa geologic\u0103 surprinz\u0103toare: la polul sudic prezint\u0103 gheizere uria\u0219e care arunc\u0103 \u00een spa\u021biu jeturi de ap\u0103, ghea\u021b\u0103 \u0219i particule organice form\u00e2nd chiar o parte din inelele planetei. Aceste erup\u021bii provin dintr-un ocean subteran de ap\u0103 lichid\u0103 aflat sub o crust\u0103 de ghea\u021b\u0103, \u00eenc\u0103lzit de for\u021be de maree generate de Saturn. Prezen\u021ba apei lichide, a energiei \u0219i a compu\u0219ilor organici face din Enceladus unul dintre cele mai promi\u021b\u0103toare locuri din Sistemul Solar pentru c\u0103utarea vie\u021bii extraterestre.<\/p>\n<p>Un alt satelit fascinant al lui Saturn este <strong><em>Iapetus<\/em><\/strong>. Acesta este celebru pentru aspectul s\u0103u bicolor extrem: o emisfer\u0103 este foarte \u00eentunecat\u0103, iar cealalt\u0103 foarte luminoas\u0103, ca \u0219i cum ar fi \u201evopsit\u0103\u201d \u00een dou\u0103 culori distincte. \u00cen plus, Iapetus are o creast\u0103 ecuatorial\u0103 uria\u0219\u0103, ca un \u201ezid\u201d care \u00eenconjoar\u0103 mare parte din ecuatorul s\u0103u, uneori ating\u00e2nd peste 20 km \u00een\u0103l\u021bime. Originea acestor tr\u0103s\u0103turi este \u00eenc\u0103 dezb\u0103tut\u0103, dar se crede c\u0103 diferen\u021bele de culoare sunt legate de acumularea de materiale \u00eenchise la culoare pe emisfera care este orientat\u0103 \u00een direc\u021bia mi\u0219c\u0103rii sale orbitale urmat\u0103 de un proces termic numit \u201dsegregare termic\u0103\u201d, ceea ce face din Iapetus unul dintre cei mai neobi\u0219nui\u021bi sateli\u021bi din Sistemul Solar.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Mimas<\/em><\/strong> este un satelit relativ mic al lui Saturn dar celebru pentru aspectul s\u0103u spectaculos: are un crater uria\u0219 numit Herschel care ocup\u0103 aproape o treime din diametrul \u00eentregii luni. Impactul care a format acest crater a fost at\u00e2t de puternic \u00eenc\u00e2t aproape a distrus complet satelitul. Din cauza acestui crater imens, Mimas seam\u0103n\u0103 vizual cu \u201eSteaua Mor\u021bii\u201d din universul Star Wars, devenind unul dintre cei mai u\u0219or de recunoscut sateli\u021bi din Sistemul Solar. Datele reanalizate de la sonda Cassini au condus la ideea c\u0103 sub aparen\u021ba unei bile \u00eenghe\u021bate \u0219i moarte, plin\u0103 de cratere, satelitul ascunde probabil un ocean global lichid aflat la circa 20\u201330 km ad\u00e2ncime, posibil foarte t\u00e2n\u0103r, format acum doar 10\u201325 milioane de ani. Acest fapt este extraordinar pentru c\u0103 Mimas nu arat\u0103 ca o \u201elun\u0103 activ\u0103\u201d, nu are gheizere vizibile precum Enceladus \u0219i totu\u0219i ar putea ascunde ap\u0103 lichid\u0103. Descoperirea schimb\u0103 ideea astronomilor despre unde pot exista oceane \u0219i poate chiar condi\u021bii pentru via\u021b\u0103.<\/p>\n<p>Am men\u021bionat anterior <strong><em>sateli\u021bii p\u0103stori<\/em><\/strong> saturnieni, ni\u0219te luni foarte mici a c\u0103ror gravita\u021bie men\u021bine particulele din inele organizate, \u00eempiedic\u00e2ndu-le s\u0103 se \u00eempr\u0103\u0219tie sau s\u0103 se ciocneasc\u0103 haotic. Practic, ei ac\u021bioneaz\u0103 ca ni\u0219te \u201dgardieni\u201d gravita\u021bionali. Atunci c\u00e2nd un satelit mic orbiteaz\u0103 aproape de un inel atrac\u021bia sa gravita\u021bional\u0103 poate \u00eempinge particulele spre interior sau exterior, poate crea goluri \u00eentre inele, poate men\u021bine margini foarte clare ale inelelor iar uneori produce unde \u0219i structuri spiralate \u00een materialul inelului. Drept exemple avem lunile Prometheus \u0219i Pandora, \u201ep\u0103storii\u201d inelului F, unul dintre cele mai sub\u021biri \u0219i dinamice inele ale lui Saturn. Prometheus trage material din inel, cre\u00e2nd structuri precum filamente \u0219i \u201enoduri\u201d (aglomer\u0103ri de particule), iar Pandora ajut\u0103 la men\u021binerea marginii externe a inelului. Satelitul Pan orbiteaz\u0103 \u00een interiorul diviziunii Encke, un gol din inele. Gravita\u021bia lui cur\u0103\u021b\u0103 zona din jur \u0219i produce unde spectaculoase \u00een marginea golului. Pan are chiar o form\u0103 neobi\u0219nuit\u0103, asem\u0103n\u0103toare unei farfurii zbur\u0103toare sau ravioli, cu o creast\u0103 ecuatorial\u0103 pronun\u021bat\u0103. El are doar aproximativ 30 de km \u00een diametru dar cur\u0103\u021b\u0103 un interval lat de 325 de km.
